Views From The Open Road - Big Bend National Park

From the site: Views From The Open Road - Big Bend National Park

After getting holed up in Van Horn, TX for an additional night due to icy road conditions, we drove down to Big Bend National Park on Friday.  I'm glad we waited a day because our drive down was under sunny blue skies. We drove on to Rio Grande Village where we found a site in the no-hook up campground. We have had our Cameo fifth wheel for almost three years, and until this trip, we had never dry camped and really tried out the solar panels on the rig.  Bill and I were thrilled with the way the rig performed.  We brought along a small generator (just in case), but we never needed it.One of the hikes we did was Lost Mine Trail.  It was about 5 miles round trip and climbed for some great views of the park. The RV Doctor - RV Hot Skin

From the site: The RV Doctor - RV Hot Skin

I read in a recent issue of Family Motor Coaching your advice to Michael regarding the use of a proximity tester. I am a retired electrician with almost 50 years on the job. Almost 20 years in hospitals and the rest in industry, some construction and the rest maintenance.Your advice about the proximity tester was a bit off base. That type of tester is a great troubleshooting tool in the hand of a professional, but not so good for the novice. A far better choice for the novice is a circuit tester/ ground monitor. The device is not much bigger than the plug on the end of an extension cord. These testers will check reverse polarity, open ground, open neutral, reverse hot and ground and open hot. This tool can be used at the end of an exte ...Read more...

Tres Michelle - The Most Magical Places in America

From the site: Tres Michelle - The Most Magical Places in America

Over the last 7.5 months I've seen some extremely beautiful places! Traveling in our Airstream west from Kansas City to the coast of California up to Washington, over to Yellowstone and back to the coast again has been amazing. There are a few places that have really stood out that are more than beautiful, they're Magical! Yellowstone National Park-This park is the Granddaddy of all National Parks. It just has so much to blow your mind that you can't see anywhere else. Yellowstone is full of wildlife including bison, elk, wolves, bears, beavers and more. You have to try pretty hard not to see wildlife in the park. The thermal features are unbelievable and there are so many! If Yellowstone had nothing but it's thermal features, it would be w ...Read more...

RV Days with Jessica and Harry - One Year!

From the site: RV Days with Jessica and Harry - One Year!

Location: Campbellsville, KY (High 41, Low 17) Today marks the milestone of one year of fulltime rv living! It was one year ago today that we pulled out of the driveway for the final time. We were very happy to have nice weather to get packed up and move to our temporary location in Catskill, NY.   It was so exciting to get settled in our spot and know that we no longer had to maneuver ourselves back into the driveway.     It has been a whirlwind year. After Harry’s retirement in January, we headed south as quickly as possible. We didn’t quite beat the winter weather and our trip through PA and VA was a little cold and snowy. But we made tracks and made it to the warmer parts of the country…enjoying a ...Read more...
