Last thing to do…load our bikes.   Trip is on!! We left San Diego on Tuesday, June 10th. First leg of trip: Driving car out to storage facility to get the already mostly packed RV. Second leg of trip: Driving RV back to our downtown condo to load our four bikes. Trip Mileage: 17 miles so far, and we’ve landed right back at our home. Weeeeeeeeeee!!!!!! Bikes loaded, and off we go, finally!!! Uneventful drive up to Carpinteria, where we stop to visit Bob & Jennifer, their three dogs, two horses, and uncountable amount of chickens. The last week has flown by.  We were in Portland visiting my daughter and her family and had asked Ryan our son-in-law if he would come and wash the top of the Little RV and he agreed.  After being parked under many trees all winter and spring it was a nasty mess and needed cleaned badly.  The first morning we were there  a small army of men came in and started cleaning some of the surrounding RVs.  Rob decided to see what they would charge to do ours and the price was agreeable so we decided to splurge on a badly needed spa day for our rolling home.  They thoroughly cleaned the roof, the entire exterior including the awning, the windows, tires and wheels.  It looks so much better.  When Ryan came to ...Read more...

Yesterday we drove inland to Eugene, OR where we met up with our friends Chad and Alicia and their kids at Falling Sky Brewing. After lunch we went across the street to the Level Up Arcade. Chad and Ali’s youngest son Jakey took this half blurry photo of us playing 4 player Pac Man. From there we went to the park where we saw a naked bike ride. I posted this photo to Instagram with a caption that said something like: Public nudity is legal in the state of Oregon as long as the intent isn’t to arouse. Link: Look, Ma! No Tan Lines! Sunday June 8, 2013Sleeping Bear Dunes National Seashore   We have to make a drug run.   David has to have several prescriptions filled each month along the road.  He can get them at any CVS but this area only has one city large enough to have a CVS and that’s Traverse City.  The other towns call themselves “villages” and that is a great name for them. We have been in this area twice before and really loved it so we want to visit again these villages on the Leelanau Peninsula.  So rather than drive to Empire on M22 and turn east on M72 for a direct route to Traverse City, we are going to do make a day of it and do the entire 127 mile loop on M22 up around the coast of the Leelanau Peninsula.  ...Read more...
