It’s turning out to be perfect weather this 4th of July holiday along the Little Salmon, Lower Salmon and Salmon Rivers in Idaho. Recreation vehicles of all shapes, sizes and models are frequent sights on Idaho Hwy. 95 between White Bird and McCall. One sweet Bureau of Land Management campground is Hammer Creek Recreation Site on the Lower Salmon River, approximately 2.7 miles from Hwy 95, near White Bird. The developed campground is surrounded by semi-arid mountain peaks. “It is a frequent put-in spot for boating the Lower Salmon River via raft, kayak, jet boat or power boat.” There are only 12 sites in this intimate campground.
