Half Moon Bay State Beach sits on the California coast 30 miles south of San Francisco. I made our reservation this past January when there was only 1 spot left that was available for the entire week. Juggling reservation windows has become quite the pastime for me. Some campgrounds start taking reservations as early as 11 months ahead of the arrival date so when we’re planning to go somewhere popular I try to book it as soon as possible. This paid off last August when I booked the coveted spot #21 at Emigrant Lake for this coming Memorial Weekend. It helps to have a plan.
