Yesterday we took the 96 North for 3 hours of windy roads to Happy Camp, CA. The town is about halfway to Ashland, OR (our destination for the week) and I couldn’t resist stopping in a place called Happy Camp. We had no idea that it was also Bigfoot Country. Curtis didn’t pick up on any signs of Sasquatch, and went for a rare dip in the river. We stayed the night at the Curly Jack Campground in the Klamath National Forest. The campground just opened for the season the night before so it was completely empty. Normally the campground is $15 a night, but there wasn’t anyone around, and the iron ranger wasn’t particularly secure.
