The Piñon Flats Campground at the Great Sand Dunes might just be the nicest national park campground we’ve ever stayed at. The sites are well spaced, the views are incredible, and the location is convenient to everything you want to explore around the park. This site is nearly perfect in every way We arrived knowing that this campground wasn’t a sure thing. According to the park service website the campground fills by noon everyday, and there are a limited number of sites for RVs.
