The great Columbia River Gorge is famous for its waterfalls and windsurfers. You just can not go wrong by spending time there. Hanging out for the month of August while campground hosting may not have been enough time to see everything we wanted to see, but here is a start.First, a small history lesson about the Historic Columbia River Highway. It is a 75 mile stretch of highway along the Columbia River between Troutdale and The Dalles. It was designed to be the first scenic highway in the US with construction beginning in 1913 and ending in 1922.
