Volunteer VillageJ. Strom Thurmond LakeModoc, SCFriday we arrived at our new home for the summer..working for the Corps of Engineersat J. Strom Thurmond Lake.We were thrilled to pull in and be directed to our siteby Mike & Terri Young,who have been here since September.They will be working here also until the end of May.Our site, #6, couldn't be more perfect....with views like this!Mike and Terri were nice enough to invite us over for dinner on Friday night.It's great to have a site to call our own, and it feels more homeywith our bird feeders out.Even Mr. Gnome is quite happy to have something to look at!Today we found out our duties.We will work the weekends and 3 summer holidaysmanning the gatehouse at Clarks Hill Park.The park is a ...Read more...
