From the site: Travel with Kevin and Ruth - One day in Yellowstone National Park...

We had a busy day yesterday, and took a lot of photos. So we're going to break this into two posts. That means you'll get to see more of Yellowstone later today! There's so much to see in Yellowstone, and only part of the park is open at this time of year. Really, things don't get into full swing here until mid May. But we're only passing through and wouldn't have had enough time to see anything more anyhow.Click here to read more... ...Read more...

OUR NEWELL ADVENTURE - April showers.....

From the site: OUR NEWELL ADVENTURE - April showers.....

It was raining when we went to bed at 10 pm Saturday evening......and every time I woke up during the night it was raining....sometimes hard.  Of course I always need some small thing to worry about on the eve of our departure from any given geographical point.  If it rains enough in a short period of time in Wittmann the 1 mile of dirt roads we must traverse from Tom's home to hit pavement sometimes become almost impassible. So, that is what I worried over each time I woke up to the sound of rain, and that is what I worried over as I stepped out of the coach first thing Sunday morning on to the somewhat spongy dirt surrounding our coach.......was it too soft?  Should we wait until later in the day to leave?  What if we ...Read more...

April, 2015 – We made our way from Pensacola Beach to Sarasota, Florida, with two big missions on our minds: first, to overhaul the electrical system on our RV and second, for me to zip off to New England for a family reunion. But during our stay in the pretty beach town of Sarasota we squeezed in a little sightseeing and discovered some wonderful gems. “The Ringling” in Sarasota is an impressive estate that once belonged to the founder of Ringling Brothers’ Circus. We spend it relaxing around the rig and swimming in the spring.  Later in the day we start the take down.  We clean off the mats, fold them up and put them in the bin. Put away the chairs, the table cloth and bench cushions, put up the awning, put the bikes on the car, cover them and check all the vehicles fluids just to name a few chores completed before heading out for the long drive north.       SATURDAY April 10 We hustle to get a fairly early start this morning on our uncustomarily long 265 mile drive into Eastern Georgia.  We&rsq ...Read more...

We woke to SPRING in Washoe Lake State Park this AM Today we find ourselves half way to the lush, green plains of Oregon. We’ve decided to stop-over at an all-time favorite spot of ours, a {{gasp}} private park in the most unlikely place you’d ever imagine. It’s a little gem of a place, nestled within the 99 human (and 80,000 cow) population of bustling Likely, CA. It’s way out there and close to really nothing except a lonely section of Hwy 395. We hadn’t really expected to stop here and it came as a last-minute decision made on the very morning of our departure. So, why would we do such an uncharacteristic thing?? To increase my puzzlement, all the dashboard gauges now worked perfectly.  Evidently all the wiggling of the wire harness under the dash tightened some loose connection.  During our 160 mile trip from Mayport, FL to Patrick AFB in Cocoa Beach, FL, they performed flawlessly.  Lovely, plus no more annoying warning alarm.  Figures, but I’m still going to get the wiring harness replaced at the Freightliner Service Center in Gaffney, SC as soon as we head that way. All is going well, we have a 50 amp electric site here at the AFB FamCamp for $14.50/night.  It’s right nearby Port Canaveral where we’re catching our Royal Caribbean cruise ship Sunday for a 7 day sailing.      &nb ...Read more...

I fiddled around with the drive gear shaft(screws directly into the transmission.....I don't know if this is the correct technical term for it, but that's what I call it) for quite a while Thursday trying to get the small broken piece of the 'drive tang' out so I could insert the new drive tang and put everything back together, but, alas, was not successful. I decided to soak the broken fitting with penetrating oil overnight hoping that would loosen it up a tad, but even after an overnight 'soak' it was still STUCK!  It was time for more brain power, and a different perspective, so I found Tom in his herculean garage first thing Friday morning and asked him to take a look at my problem, and see if he had a solution.  His first ide ...Read more...

It seems like there’s always that one group of campers at every campground or campsite. You know the group I’m talking about. They might be loud, obnoxious, inconsiderate, or one of a thousand other annoying things. They don’t have respect for others around them and are only focused on their own version of fun. Make sure that you’re following these basic camping etiquette tips on your next camping trip, and never be that group that ruins another’s good time. Familjen Helsingborg Camping etiquette is pretty much standard operating procedure for most people.
