I’ve read many times that in order to extend the life of an RV water heater you need to replace the anode every year. Our entire water heater was replaced a year ago, so the anode has been on my list of things to do this month. This week we discovered that our water heater didn’t even have an anode to replace, just a plastic cap where one would go. Now I’m trying to figure out if we need an anode or not. I’ve done some preliminary research and it seems like the Atwater brand does not need one. I’ve also read that if you try to use an anode with an Atwater water heater it could potentially adhere itself to the heater making it impossible to remove.
