From the site: On the Road of Retirement - Enchanted Rock State Natural Areaâ€"The Loop Hike
Our last excursion while staying in Fredericksburg was to a place we really feel is a must see, Enchanted Rock State Natural Area. We have both hiked this park a multitude of times but this trip we took a hike neither of us had done before called the loop hike. The hike is a bit more than four miles long and there is an option to take a cutoff which makes it about 3.5 miles in length. We elected to take the cutoff as it would take us closer to the granitic domes. We enjoyed the diversity of hiking through the green, grassy lowland enjoying the cactus and wildflowers, tiptoeing across creeks and then climbing uphill for a little boulder hopping.
