This latest pit stop at the Q-pound is winding down, and as the call of the open road grows louder, I'm down to a few remaining piddly items on my to-do list. I naively assumed that I'd wrap everything up today, when while performing a pretty straightforward adjustment to the parking brake early this afternoon, the rod that connects to the release handle in the front of the van snapped in two. Multiple expletives may or may not have ensued.After a visit to the interwebs, I found out that this part only recently became available again, and so the Vanagon-specific parts suppliers out there would be the only place I'd find it (i.e. not locally).
