From the site: Winds of Destiny - RVLife - Big Bend, Rio Grande Village Nature Trail - 2/06/15
Across from campsite 18 in the large campground past the store in Rio Grande Village is the beginning of this Nature Trail. It is rated as an easy hike and .75 miles round trip. You can drive to the trailhead or as we did, walk from the RV, full hookup, are to the trail.The beautiful Sierra del Carmens could be seen in the distance as we walked to the trailhead.As we walked through the campground we saw these beautiful cardinals.And a roadrunner.The first 300' of the Nature Trail is through a wildlife viewing platform on a pond.Ducks.Turtles.The trail then passes through a desert area.Trinkets placed along the trail by Mexican Nationals for sail to park visitors.
