RVer Butch Michaelsen made the 600-plus mile journey from Halfway, in eastern Oregon, taking mostly back roads. Given a choice, Butch will always choose the meandering, scenic way. After years as a longhaul trucker, these days his philosophy is: “Why get some place faster, when later will do just fine and you’ll arrive relaxed.” Butch travels in his 2005 Dodge Ram 2500 4WD flatbed truck and custom-made 2014 pop-top Alaskan camper.
