We are headed south and west from Spokane, Wash., on a two week RV camping trip through Oregon with plans of seeing friends, attending the FMCA Rally in Redmond, and ending up on the Oregon coast to escape the extreme summer heat (and smoke from wildfires) of eastern Washington. Our first night will be at Wallowa Lake State Park in northeast Oregon, just south of Joseph. Our full-hookup site (during August 2014) is $30/summer for one night, booked through Reserve America for an extra $8 fee (ouch). The park is nestled between the south end of a scenic glacial lake and the towering peaks of the Wallowa Mountains, according to a park brochure.
