Today we visited Catalina State Park located north of Tucson. It is next to the Coronado National Forest on the western slopes of the beautiful Santa Catalina Mountains. The park is 5,500 acres where camping, picnicking, hiking, and birdwatching. There is also an equestrian center located in the park. We were looking for a place to do some hiking after a few rainy and overcast days here in Tucson and this turned out to be the perfect place to do so.An admission tag (that you hang from your rearview mirror) can be purchased at the information center/gift shop.
