We spent over 3 weeks in Maine in August and worked our way “down east” from the norther part of the state towards Acadia National Park. We chose to stay on highway 1, instead of the interstate, so that we would remain closer to the coast and go through smaller towns. We prefer camping at public parks and campgrounds which is why we chose to stay 2 nights at the Cobscook Bay State Park in Dennysville, Maine. The park is open year round and has 106 sites, with 40 of those able to accommodate an RV. There are no hookups at the sites so you will have to be prepared to dry camp.
