Last  Wednesday we rented a Jeep from Silver Summit in Silverton and headed out for a day-long adventure along the Alpine Loop. This is a spectacular drive and according to Outside Magazine it is ranked as one of the 10 best rides in the country - no argument from us.Rather than try and describe this trip I am going to let the pictures do the talking - although, as so often is the case pictures do not do it justice.Old mines...Ghost towns - most notable of which was Animas Forks.Even though it is at the end of the season...wildflowers.Two amazing passes.Wildlife.
