We had big plans for Louisiana which included a stop in New Orleans, however while we were in Houston I was offered a winter position in Key West. We had to make our way through more quickly than anticipated and chose to spend some time with friends in Florida’s panhandle before settling down for the winter. We stayed in two state parks and checked cajun and crawfish off our to-do list. The first park was Sam Houston Jones State Park outside of Lake Charles.
