Riveted - Bike Ride Through Dry Creek Valley

From the site: Riveted - Bike Ride Through Dry Creek Valley

This morning we had our friends Bob & Sissy over for breakfast at the Airstream. I made a frittata with some local farm eggs, chorizo, bacon, kale, mushrooms, tomatoes, and a little bit of pepper jack, and Sissy and Bob brought mimosas. It was a lovely morning. Next, we packed up the bikes and headed about 45 minutes over to Healdsburg. We heard there was really great biking around that area and decided to check it out, and yes, it's true! Rolling hills, vineyards for miles, flowering trees...just beautiful. (Okay Tuscany...you'd better bring it in May!) We parked downtown near... ...Read more...

Winnie Views - Meals, Mercados & Music in San Miguel

From the site: Winnie Views - Meals, Mercados & Music in San Miguel

When I arrived to San Miguel de Allende, my friend Suzanne had sent me a wonderful, detailed email called "Eating San Miguel" listing all of the restaurant recommendations from her numerous visits.  I was never able to get to them all…but I sure had a great time trying! The first restaurant, La Palapa, felt a bit like returning to the beach, as it was an outdoor place specializing in fish tacos.  I arrived late in the afternoon to eat a late lunch/early dinner and had the place to myself.  The owner quickly delivered my order of 2 fish tacos, a shrimp taco, and a nice cold cerveza (beer), and even though it did not come with the piles of lettuce and tomato that we are accustomed to in the States, there was a delicious g ...Read more...

Running Away with Doug and Nancy - Sugar Loaf Key FL (Day 5)

From the site: Running Away with Doug and Nancy - Sugar Loaf Key FL (Day 5)

I promised you I would show yesterday's rather busy camping "situation". The folks from Columbia left today and the ones behind us moved to the other tenting area. They did not like the $135 per site price tag!!!!! Good thing they did not know that our site is costing us about $50 before taxes!! Get ready.....This was looking out our screen door at the side this morning....No, nobody slept in the pink tent but there were 3 others to choose from!! That Denali trailer has nothing to do with the tents, that's how close they are!! The only "open" space you see is ours..... Anyone want a truck? The big white trailer is actually the shower building while the main building is renovated...Yup, it's a "little" crowded!!! And they ...Read more...

It's about time. - Packing Up and Final Happy Hour Together.

From the site: It's about time. - Packing Up and Final Happy Hour Together.

Our Location today is Sugarloaf Key, Florida. Both Kathy and I slept soundly last night. In fact we slept so well that we found it hard to wake up at 8:30 so after breakfast we got caught up on our computer reading. The next thing we did was to start dismantling our office. Yes it is the day we all dread packing day. If you look real close you can see Kathy on the Beech.I was standing on the highway bridge for this shot. Before we would get too serious about the task at hand Kathy and I had to take a picture of our campground from a different point of view. When you write your blog post and tell people you’re in the Keys they don’t understand that it is a series of Islands connected by bridges and a highway. So we took a pict ...Read more...

Rob and Me in our Little RV - Water, Water EVERYWHERE in the Little RV

From the site: Rob and Me in our Little RV - Water, Water EVERYWHERE in the Little RV

Friday around noon we started working on the repairs to the front end of the Little RV. You may remember a few weeks ago we noticed the front end around the 5th wheel hitch was sagging.  You can read more about that here.  We did a ton of research and purchased all of the supplies we needed to repair the collapsed area around the hitch and to reseal the trim around that entire area. Those supplies included putty tape to seal behind the trim strips and stainless steel screws to replace the rusted and broken screws. We chose ProFlex RV sealant for all of the seams and edges of the trim to keep water out.     We also knew we needed to replace some insulation because we pulled out some that was soaked. &n ...Read more...

Turn When the Road Does - Winding it down at Patagonia Lake SP

From the site: Turn When the Road Does - Winding it down at Patagonia Lake SP

Memories of being at Patagonia VIEW SLIDE SHOW DOWNLOAD ALL Wow, we woke up today and realized it is about time to go.  We only have 23 more days left here and we still have things on our must do list.  Better get busy. First up, Fellow Bloggers and full timers Bill & Cap over at Views From The Open Road recently emailed us and we have a get together planned for tomorrow.  The plan is for lunch in Patagonia and a tour of the Patagonia Lake State Park here after that.  Really looking forward to meeting them and learning first hand about their love of Yellowstone.  They have been full time for over 9 years, it will be good to learn some things from them too. Next on the list is a visit and weekend campout ...Read more...

DayDreamer - Crooked Lake Prairie Scrub

From the site: DayDreamer - Crooked Lake Prairie Scrub

Yesterday was a beautiful bright sunny day and we decided to take advantage of that sunshine to get in a hike in the morning.  We headed down the road about 7 miles to what is called the Crooked Lake Prairie Scrub.  The route has two different trails.  The first one leads you out through some hammock and some scrub to a boardwalk near Crooked Lake.  We met a fellow on our way who advised we should watch out for the big rattler beside the path just beyond the boardwalk.  I had my camera on ready but he was gone when we got there.  Too bad.  I don't want to see one up close but would have liked to get a snap.On the map this trail was supposed to be half mile out and you had to return the same way.  But ...Read more...

From the site: Gone With The Wynns - Après Ski â€" Best Sips and Bites in Breck

Après-Ski, or Après Board as we like to call it, is the tradition of coming off the mountain and heading out for sips, bites, dancing and anything social.  Some ski towns are known for their Après Ski as much as their mountain and fortunately Breckenridge Colorado has the best of both worlds.  If you’re looking for a good drink, a social scene and cheap bites in Breckenridge after a killer day of shreddin’ the Pow Pow, here are some of our tops!   Over the past few years we’ve spent a lot of time in Breckenridge, and as you can […] ...Read more...
