Just when you think you’ve seen it all, something new shows up that surprises the heck out of you. Yesterday we were sitting outside enjoying another amazing summer day, when I saw a vehicle pulling a trailer holding a picnic table coming down the road. Now, that’s not that unusual. But, wait. The picnic table has big drums attached to it, and they’re pulling into the boat launch. This I’ve got to see. We walked over to the pier, and sure enough. They already had their “boat” in the water. We left Rapid City on Tuesday and drove the short distance to Wall, South Dakota.  After getting the RV set up in Sleepy Hollow Campground and a quick lunch, we headed out for a drive through the Badlands. The other morning I made chocolate banana breakfast quinoa and it turned out quite good!  I used agave instead of honey and left out the mint garnish.  It did end up taking twice as long to cook than what the recipe stated, which didn’t surprise me since quinoa almost always takes us 20 minutes to cook.  Next time I’ll also be cutting the recipe in half, unless if Mike is around to share (he was at work already when I made it).  I’ll probably also use maple syrup instead of agave, just because I like the taste of that much more in the morning.   It certainly helped to start my day off on a delicious note!  ...Read more...

THIS IS WHAT A ‘DRIVE BY FLOWER BED SHOOTING’ LOOKS LIKE I was able to walk a little farther this morning but had to turn around at the Goose pond while Pheebs & Kelly continued on. I had a chuckle when I saw Pheebs meet up with her best pal Dexter & both of them made a bee line for the pond. Dexter jumped right in with a big splach but Pheebs would have no part of that getting wet stuff. Our Location today is Tecumseh, Ontario.It was another night that Kathy and I slept fairly well and we’re feeling quite refreshed when we got up around 8:00 this morning. Kathy started an adjusted medication routine this morning so once we sat down to have cereal and coffee for breakfast we started formulating what our plans would be for the day. That’s when the phone rang and Murphy was on the line. Actually it was the receptionist confirming Kathy’s appointment with the Podiatrist but it was so very difficult to understand her. The campground is pretty peaceful and quiet during the week!  Most of the sites around us are empty. And the weather is perfect for a summer day----  Steve had a call at 7:30 a.m. to get down to the marina to let in some electricians for work... so we took a quick buzz down in the car.  I snapped an early morning pic of the quiet marina and the pretty flowers around the main building. Since I was out and about early, I started cleaning firepits and getting a jump on the day, then I could sit back and do some quilting in the afternoon. (my free time) I had a very good day until my Cub Cadet started bucking and choking and sputtering!   Oh NO!  I broke it! But the good thing is having a wonderful husband at the Fa ...Read more...
