live. work. dream. - Can You Write Off Your RV? New Book Answers the Question

From the site: live. work. dream. - Can You Write Off Your RV? New Book Answers the Question

If you’re a seasonal snowbird or full-time RVer and work from your rig, you’ve probably heard that you can enjoy a nice tax break by writing off your rig as a second home and business expense. I’ve heard the same thing and always wondered what full-timing expenses were justifiable write-offs in the eyes of the Internal Revenue Service. Thankfully there’s a new book that clears up this confusion, called Can I Write Off My RV?: What Every RVer Should Know About Taxes. Learning about income taxes isn’t as boring as you might think. Written by former full-timer and income tax expert George Montgomery, “Can I Write Off My RV?” does an excellent job clearly answering all of the tax questions that arise wh ...Read more...

RV Voyageur - Busy....Very Busy....!

From the site: RV Voyageur - Busy....Very Busy....!

Very little time to laze around.  That is the story with us, these past several days.  It's a good thing too! We're enjoying Sam's RV Spa and Resort.  We've opted to stay here till we start back for home this early  April.Back from the motorcycle shop and running like a brand new ride.Last Friday, late afternoon, Hector drove me out to the Beaumont Motorcycle shop that worked on our motorcycle. This motorcycle shop finally isolated and repaired the problem other motorcycle shops could not.  What a treat to find a full service shop with the technical talent and the testing tools to find and repair the issue.  With those repairs, a new rear tire, and new fluids, it runs like a top.  I am thrilled with the res ...Read more...

WatsonsWander - Exploring and working fulltime from our Airstream - Change in Scenery, Change in Plans

From the site: WatsonsWander - Exploring and working fulltime from our Airstream - Change in Scenery, Change in Plans

Saturday was our last day in Bisbee, but instead of spending it in town we decided to venture out for some exploration of the surrounding area. Our destination was the Coronado National Memorial, a little known mountainous area smack dab on the border of Arizona and Mexico. I stumbled across this hidden gem while searching for nearby hiking trails. We are constantly surprised how many of these nationally designated areas we have never heard of before. Montezuma Peak After a quick stop at the visitor center and a nice chat with the friendly park ranger, we decided to tackle the 6.4 mile round trip Joe’s Canyon Trail. We’ve been trying to step up our physical activity a bit lately, and since this hike began with a 1000 foot elevat ...Read more...

Running Away with Doug and Nancy - Carrabelle FL to Chiefland FL (153 Miles)

From the site: Running Away with Doug and Nancy - Carrabelle FL to Chiefland FL (153 Miles)

Hello from Manatee Springs State Park!!!!!!Well, we are SUPER excited to be here. The state park is about 6 miles west of the small town of Chiefland FL and we are happy to, obviously, report that we have internet at the close-by concession. The vendor is required by Florida State Parks to provide free WIFI!! Oh my gosh, get ready because we have only been here for a few hours and already have lots to show you!!We left Carrabelle about 10:00 am and had a fairly straight, and I mean fairly straight drive here. There were a few turns here and there but otherwise not too challenging. Good of me to always volunteer to do the driving on these type of days!!We are tucked in very nicely in spot #89, right across from the bathrooms ( ...Read more...

RV Wheel Life - Fun vintage double-decker bus conversion

From the site: RV Wheel Life - Fun vintage double-decker bus conversion

Found this brilliant 1960 vintage British double-decker bus conversion for sale by owner on My Vintage Bus. The 1960 Bristol FS open-top heritage red bus went through its conversion to a motor home over a five-year period beginning in 1991. The interior is totally modernized with 3-way fridge and gas stove. The 4-minute video shows an exceptionally clean conversion with non-smoking owners. Solar panels have been added to the pneumatic elevating roof. The old photograph on the left shows what the bus looked like when it was in operation in Brighton and Hove’s 22nd District between 1960-1990. No price was listed. Click on My Vintage Bus for more information on features, additional photographs and video. Photos courtesy of My ...Read more...

the Amazing Vanstones - Soaking Up Spring

From the site: the Amazing Vanstones - Soaking Up Spring

With bright sunshine and temps in the 70′s, every day is a love-in day with our Mississippi weatherman. We hook up the dogs and head off down the sandy country road to the Wolf River. The dogs are playing on the river’s edge when Angel dives in for a dip. When we finally make it back to our site we enjoy our coffees in the warm Sunday morning sun. Life is just plain good here in Pass Christian, Mississippi. We’re in Cajun country There’s a combination Flea market, Karate school and RV park up the road closer to I-10. We’re not positive we have that particular combination on our bucket list but we decide it should be. I was looking for something different at this flea. Turns out that along with the used tools a ...Read more...

Roadtreking | The small motorhome lifestyle - Birdwatching and Exploring at two Florida State Parks

From the site: Roadtreking | The small motorhome lifestyle - Birdwatching and Exploring at two Florida State Parks

Birdwatching and Exploring at two Florida State ParksOchlockonee River reflection When I do plan my trips, which is about half the time, I like the ALL STAYS app.  I can find state, national, BLM and private parks to camp.  They have links to websites, routes and maps, phone numbers and general info. Best of all, I can switch to satellite imaging and look at the layout and surrounding area. State and national parks, so far, are my favorites.  And I managed to find a couple of home runs in northwest Florida. The first was Ochlockonee River State Park.  This is a smaller, 543 acre park, but is adjacent to the huge Apalachicola National Forest.  It lies just south of Tallahassee where the river meets the gulf.  It ...Read more...
